Q:okay, so I have a hard time keeping my motivation up so I ask my friends if they'd run at the park, ride bikes, play basketball, even football. they always go just come to the gym with me. yet I don't make enough money to afford living and a gym member ship. how can I convince them to go workout not at a gym with me?

Chances are they’re trying to hit the gym because they already have memberships and want to make the most of them. Try searching out friends without memberships and asking them. If that doesn’t work, you can always search local forums for exercise groups or new pals!

Q:I just feel like I'm never going to be able to lose weight. What kept/keeps you motivated? I see all the inspiring things on tumblr and such but I just can't seem to get anywhere.

The way I look at it is simple— if I put in the effort, I’ll get the results. Wanting to become fit or lose weight is just like wanting to become anything else in life. If you want to become a doctor, you have to put in the work. If you want to become an olympic athlete, you have to put in the work. The things in life that are worth acheiving take dedication and work every single day. I know that and I know that I want it, so I just do what I need to do. Because at the end of the day, no one else is going to do it for me.

I think we all need to give ourselves a reality check and some tough love sometimes.

There we go! There isn’t just one type of body that looks good in clothes, or one type that looks good naked. (Not to mention, “skinny” and “fit” aren’t the only two body types out there!)
